The Artist
Gyzellah’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience, self-expression, and creative exploration. Raised amidst constant change and challenges, she found inspiration and a sense of home in the vibrant streets of Brooklyn, New York. It was here that the energy of the Hip-Hop Graffiti movement influenced her worldview and shaped her unique artistic style—a bold fusion of cultural depth and urban flair.
Driven by a passion for creativity, Gyzellah transitioned from the streets to the stage, pursuing her dreams in the world of entertainment. She studied acting at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, while showcasing her talents internationally through singing, dancing, and modeling. Her early career includes a commercial for Japanese brand Nippon, a photo-shoot with the iconic photographer David LaChapelle for a Camel Light campaign, and an MTV trailer. She also appeared in music videos for legendary artists such as Whitney Houston and Fat Joe.
Her acting work expanded into numerous indie film projects by rising New York City filmmakers, and she made an appearance in the iconic series Sex and the City. She also worked on the film Gangstresses by The Reel Deal featuring Lil' Kim and Mary J. Blige—just to name a few from her extensive work history.
In the fashion world, Gyzellah built a remarkable career as a longtime showroom model for Diesel across New York City and Europe, as well as for labels such as Prps Jeans, Calvin Klein, and designer Irene Van Ryb. She also graced the runway as a model in fashion shows for the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and Project Trade Show in NYC and Las Vegas.
Simultaneously, Gyzellah always nurtured her passion for visual art through drawing, painting, and collaborations with friends and musicians to design album covers, logos, t-shirts, stickers, and more. Her creative collaborations include logos for Milly's Market, Lola's Soul Food restaurant, DJ & Producer Nappy G, Boardwalk Doggies dog apparel, and handbag designer Stone Hubbard. She also created websites for visual artist Richard Alvarez, the electronic music label Lion1music, DJ & producer MKL, and vegan restaurant Blossom.
