Creating While in Transition
Currently displaced from my home in New York City, I have been navigating life in transition—with a deep instinct to create wherever I land. Right now, I’m working with what’s around me: limited materials, temporary spaces, found objects, and intuition. And what’s emerging is thoughtful, honest work—raw at times, shaped by emotion, and rooted in the reality of where I am right now. This season isn’t about polish—it’s about truth and creation in motion.
New Creations + Something Exciting On The Way
I’m excited to share a few new things I have been working on—fresh artwork, one-of-a-kind fashion pieces, and a creative project close to my heart. The Brooklyn Funk Factory is evolving into an online community dedicated to celebrating and supporting my friends and their talents. Stay tuned—there’s so much more to come! Love and light ❤︎
Recent Work
My latest piece, “Untitled” (2023), created in Brooklyn, is now in Harlem under the care of a close friend. This 30x40in canvas, created with spray paint, acrylic, and marker, reflects the pulse of home, New York City. Discover more at: gyzellah.com/paintings
